Description
The "Passion Flower" pattern made by Winfield Pottery out of California. This vintage or mid century modern set of dishes was produced in the 1950's.
Winfield Pottery was founded in 1929 in Pasadena, California by Leslie Winfield Sample. The factory turned over to
designer
Margaret Mears Gabriel i
n 1939 after Sample's death. Following World War II, the Gabriel's faced a huge backlog of orders, so they licensed the "Winfield China" name to American Ceramic Products of Santa Monica. Some dinnerware marked Winfield was still produced in Santa Monica until that plant closed in 1967.
This coffee cup is in excellent condition. No chips or cracks. There is a small spot of discoloration (see pic) that appears to have occurred during manufacturing as it is beneath the glaze. Measures 2-1/8" tall.
